8 Things You Must Do in London

6/22/2015Jake Ryan

If you’re planning a trip to London, (and in all honesty….you should be) then you’re going to need a few tips on what you should do during your time in the City.

Now after spending a fair bit of time in London this year I left the City with a few favourite things to do. Ranging from the touristy to the extremely touristy…these are 8 things to do when you're next in London.
Ride The London Eye
Maybe the ultimate tourist spot in London, and yet still one of the best. When you ride the London Eye you’re given unforgettable views across this wonderful and beautiful city. Make sure when you step into your London Eye Pod, you grab a spot at the top left hand side of the pod, this will give you incredible views across London, looking down on Westminster and a beautiful view of Buckingham Palace from above.

Take A Walk Down South Bank
Following on from your trip to the London Eye, while you’re there make sure you take a walk along the South Bank. With countless London attractions along the way, the walk down South Bank is one of London’s most popular spots.

Step Across The Glass Bridge Walkway At Tower Bridge
If you walk the full length of South Bank you’ll eventually end up at Tower Bridge…don’t think you can rest those feet just yet though. Nope! We’re going inside the Bridge. The glass walk way located inside Tower Bridge puts you above the action on a (strengthened) pane of glass…that’s right. Walk across the glass while looking down on all the action on the bridge, you might even get to see the bridge rise if you’re lucky.

Visit London Zoo
I find it difficult when visiting London for more than a few days to not visit the Zoo. With a huge selection of Animals and Exhibits, London Zoo is an enjoyable experience for people of all ages.

Eat At Shake Shack
This one might sound simple…but after first visiting Shake Shack in NYC Madison Square Park back in 2013, I haven’t been able to get enough. So if you happen to be in the Covent Garden area and fancy a burger, head over to Shake Shack and indulge in their incredible food….hopefully when you visit though, they will actually have Shakes!!!

Walk Through Holland Park
If you’re looking for a bit of peace in the middle of this busy city then heading to the park is usually the popular option…Hyde Park being the park most people think of. Forget about it and head to Holland Park. Once there be sure to check out the Kyoto Garden, a true highlight not to be missed. The garden isn’t well known and didn’t seem to busy when I visited.

Climb To The Top Of The Great Fire of London Monument
When visiting this one…make sure you’re well rested because the climb to the top of The Great Fire of London Monument is 311 steps and you won’t find an elevator inside. But don’t worry, because once you get to the top you’ll be rewarded with some stunning views across London.

Enjoy A Salt Beef Sandwich At Borough Market
If you’re looking for a range of incredible food then you need to head down to Borough Market for sure, you’ll find every variety of food from around the world. You’ll find me in the queue for a £6.50 Salt Beef Sandwich :O
