Staying At The Grand Hyatt, Kuala Lumpur

Arriving in Kuala Lumpur for the first time, I wanted a city centre hotel that had everything to make my stay enjoyable. I found just that with the Grand Hyatt

The luxury 5 star hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to many of the city centre tourist attractions. I arrived early and was quickly wowed by the stunning ballroom you’re greeted to as you walk in. And then wowed once again when I stepped out of the elevator into the sky lobby for check in as I took in the views over the city.

The VIP treatment starts immediately and check in was a breeze, and as I had arrived early it was arranged for me to use the spa to freshen up while I waited for my room. So I hopped in the shower as after near 24 hours after leaving London, I wasn’t feeling very fresh. Before my hair even had time to dry, a member of the team came to me in the spa and let me know my room was ready.

The guest rooms are large and comfortable and come with stunning floor to ceiling windows giving you the perfect view across the city. The room comes well equipped with great amenities and all this comes at the same as it would cost for a 3 star in Europe. The room came with a glass shower placed in the middle of the room, which might not be ideal for some but I enjoyed showering while being able to see the city. House keeping do a great job of keeping the rooms spotless and yet work around your schedule meaning you won’t be interrupted when you don’t want to be.

On the ground floor you’ll find the well equipped gym and the relaxing Essa Spa. The Spa is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day in the hot humid city, or if you would prefer something a little simpler why not relax in or around the large outdoor pool. The pool is a nice place to spend an afternoon and if you feel hungry you can grab a drink and a bite to eat from the pool bar which stays open until late.

If you book a Grand Club room you’ll be able to take advantage of the Grand Club lounge which gives you access to breakfast, afternoon snacks and evening cocktails and entrees. The service you receive in the Grand Club Lounge is impeccable. After one visit the staff had remembered my name and could never do enough for you. They would engage in conversation and always do their best to please and offer suggestions on the best things to do  in the city and where to eat.

The restaurant at breakfast serves up buffet food with a selection so large, you’ll end up deciding on 14 courses of breakfast. All of which will be delicious. I normally find the restaurant staff in hotels rude however that is not the case at The Grand Hyatt. All of the team offer the same impeccable service you receive throughout the hotel.

Throughout my entire stay I only had one issue, and that was that I had to check out. If you’re planning a trip to Kuala Lumpur I would highly recommend booking the Grand Hyatt. I can’t see you being disappointed.
