Checking Into The Fullerton Bay Hotel : Singapore

8/30/2018Jake Ryan

When searching for that dream hotel in Singapore, you need to look no further than The Fullerton Bay Hotel. The Fullerton Bay Hotel is a modern 5 star hotel that sits in a prime spot in Marina Bay. Overlooking the world famous Marina Bay Sands hotel this luxurious hotel offers everything you could need during your time in Singapore.

Here is a run down of my time spent with The Fullerton Bay.

Meet & Greet
You can book Meet & Greet transfers with The Fullerton Bay, which means you’ll be greeted as soon as you step off the plane and helped through customs and baggage reclaim. Your greeter will help you with filling in landing cards etc, show you to your luggage carousel and after you’ve got all your luggage you’ll be shown straight to your car. You’ll be greeted with a bottle of water and if your driver is anything like mine, they will offer tips and advice on what not to miss during your time in Singapore. The drive from the airport takes about 25 minutes and was the perfect way to begin our trip. All the stress of arriving in a new city and not knowing where to go is instantly taken away with this service.

As we arrived at the hotel, the check in was a breeze and we were enjoying our room within minutes of arriving.

The Rooms
My Bay View Room
The luxurious rooms at The Fullerton Bay are everything you dream about when you go to sleep at night. I stayed in the Premier Bay View Room which offers you uninterrupted views of the Marina Bay and comes with a whole host of added extras. My favourite being the large private balcony. This was especially great on my first night, as we were visiting during National Day so I was lucky enough to watch the fireworks from my balcony in private.

The room also features complimentary WIFI, Bottega Veneta room amenities, Bluetooth speakers, A Nespresso coffee machine with coffee capsules, a selection of tea bags, bathroom with bathtub and shower,  Egyptian cotton linen and bathrobes, 100% goose down pillows and duvet, an iPad (you can use to book taxis, massages among other things and even comes with a huge pillow menu), a TV in the bathroom above your bathtub, a fully stocked minibar, a TV with complimentary movies including some new releases, a safe, a hairdryer and shoe shine service. I’ve probably missed out a lot of the extras that they include to make your stay unforgettable.

One of my favourite features in the room is ‘The Handy’ which is a smartphone that they provide for your time in Singapore. The phone comes with free local calls and internet use. Meaning you can use the phone to find your way around Singapore without using your own roaming charges.

I found the room the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day in the city.

Dining
If you decide to dine at The Fullerton Bay you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to sit down for that perfect lunch. You have 4 options on where to eat within the hotel. Or 5 if you opt for room service. (which you can also order through the 'in room iPad' we told you about earlier)
Afternoon tea at the Landing Point

Your options include

Clifford Pier
Sticking to the roots and occupying the space of the original Clifford Pier, Clifford Pier offer a menu that showcase the best of Singapores culinary delicacies as well as offering Heritage afternoon tea and Heritage Dim Sum Brunch.  Enjoy some food in this grand and specular space. I didn’t eat in Clifford Pier during my visit as it was fully booked during my stay (they must be doing something right) but I did get to visit and explore the dining area one morning and was stunned by the ambience.

Lantern
Heading up to the roof of the hotel, you’ll not only find the fitness centre and swimming pool but you’ll also find Lantern. This stunning rooftop bar and it’s stunning views across Marina Bay has a fun stylish vibe to it as you can sit back and enjoy the beats. Between 12 and 3 you can grab lunch here and this is the absolute best spot in the hotel to enjoy a cocktail on an evening. I sat up here one evening and enjoyed the views of the Singapore skyline while sipping on a delicious Singapore Sling.

The Landing Point
The Landing Point inside The Fullerton Bay stretches along the promenade and is an absolutely breathtaking place to dine. From delicious comfort food, salads and an incredible afternoon tea you’ll find something you enjoy at The Landing Point.

During my time at The Fullerton Bay, I enjoyed an Afternoon Tea at The Landing Point and can easily say that this is the perfect dining experience. I’ll be writing a separate post about my time at The Landing Point soon so look out for that.

La Brasserie
La Brasserie offer indoor and outdoor dining and a selection of wine and French cuisine. This is also where you can get your breakfast and wow, what a breakfast. The breakfast is a buffet breakfast however also offers a cooked section, meaning you can select a few cooked options and one of those cooked options is a breakfast steak, which is exactly what I opted for. I have never experienced a breakfast steak in my life, and I’m confused as to why not. Not only was I overly excited in regards to having steak for breakfast, but the steak was incredible. Cooked perfectly and just the right size (you have to remember it is breakfast time) I then tried the waffles and can easily say these were some of the best waffles I’ve ever eaten.

Location
The location of The Fullerton Bay Hotel is absolutely ideal for anyone looking to explore the popular tourist sites and this is absolutely the best location to stay in Singapore.

From The Fullerton Bay you can walk to many of the local attractions, and for those that are a little further afield you can use the concierge to get a taxi for you. They’ll usually be able to arrange this immediately.

Because of the great location, a taxi to most popular tourist attractions won't cost you too much. For example you can get to Gardens by the Bay in a taxi for less than SG$20.

Overview
Overall my stay at The Fullerton Bay Hotel was absolutely perfect. From the fast check in, to the incredibly attentive staff who’re always happy to help you know when inside the Fullerton Bay that this hotel really has earned their 5 stars.
