How To See Europe In 2 Weeks

4/23/2015Jake Ryan

If you want to travel but can’t leave your job (or simply don’t want to) then this post is for you. The majority of blogs will tell you to quit your job and travel the world, but I understand that not everyone wants to do that, and not everyone CAN do that. So this is how you can see the best of Europe in 2 weeks during your paid holidays from work.

Day 1 and Day 2 - London
Start in London…because well….it’s London! Duh! It’s also extremely easy to get overseas from London at bargain prices.

Spend 2 days exploring the capital, take in the View from The Shard, look out for the Queen at Buckingham Palace and grab a bite to eat at Patty & Bun and be sure to save some time for the array of FREE museums the city has to offer.

Day 3 and Day 4 - Paris
Lets head to France….Paris! Jump on the Eurostar from London and you’ll be in Paris in less than 3 hours. How can you complain at that? Spend 2 days exploring another Capital. Marvel at the Eiffel Tower (day and night), take a river cruise and witness the Mona Lisa.

Day 5 - Amsterdam
Leave Paris using Megabus and take the overnight coach to Amsterdam. Arriving in the exciting city early morning means you’ll have a full day to stroll the canals, eat exceptionally and cycle the streets like the locals.

Day 6 - Frankfurt
Leave Holland and head to Germany either by coach or train. Spend a day exploring Frankfurt, take in the history, marvel at the incredible buildings, visit the botanical gardens, shop and visit the museums.

Day 7 and Day 8 - Berlin
Hello BERLIN! You can get to Berlin from Frankfurt by train and if you book your tickets in advance you can find fares for as cheap as €50. Spend two days in the city of Berlin, you can visit the Memorial of the Berlin Wall, head to the top of Fernsehturm Berlin for some incredible views of the city and spend the night being a part of the brilliant Berlin nightlife.

Day 9 and Day 10 - Rome
Jump on a plane and you’ll be in Rome in just over 2 hours. Spend 2 days in one of the most incredible cities. Visit the Colosseum, be engrossed by the history, throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, people watch at the Spanish steps and be sure to head to Vatican City to try and catch a glimpse of the Pope.

Day 11 and Day 12 - Barcelona
You’re probably getting a little tired by now, but we’re not stopping. Jump on a flight to Barcelona (I found flights for as little as £30) and you can have the last 2 days of your choice, you can explore the incredible city and many attractions of Barcelona or you can sit back and relax on the beach. Or a mash up of the two…the perfect destination.

Day 13 - London/Home
It’s over…I’m devastated too. You can head back to London from Barcelona by Megabus if you wish…but it will take you 20+ hours or you can find reasonably priced flights online…if flying you can fly straight to the airport of your choice.

Enjoy!
