The account is run by Bo Le, based in South Australia, Bo uses his drone to capture stunning shots from above. I recently asked Bo a few questions about his photography and his plans for the future.

My name is Bo, I'm 27 and live in South Australia.
By day I work in the Energy and Gas industry but I've recently started to develop a strong interest in photography.
Growing up I've always had fascination for aerial perspective and remote controlled toys. I've always imagined as a kid how awesome it would be to fly a mini-rc into the air and be able to see a birds eye view from a screen.
How did you get started in drone photography?
I became interested in drones when I saw some people fly them down at the local park. It was interesting to see how they drones can provide such a unique perspective in the air. From there I bought my first drone back in 2015 and have been hooked since!
What equipment do you use to capture your shots?
When I first started flying I used a DJI Phantom 3 Advance
, which I then upgraded to DJI Mavic Pro for the portability.

At the moment I am using a DJI Phantom 4 Pro. I use the DJI range because of the reliability of them.
Do you make a full time income from photography?
At the moment it's just a hobby and I do make a side income from it. Looking forward to changing that in the future though.
What advice would you give someone hoping to get into photography/drone photography?
My advice would be to make sure you're aware of the rules and regulations when flying a drone in your country! Each one is different so make sure you obey them. Next would be to practice flying the drone first, when I first bought mine I spent almost 2 weeks just flying at a large oval.
Make sure you're comfortable with flying before you start taking photos. Last advice is to get our there to explore and shoot! Before I bought the drone I never knew these beautiful place existed in South Australia. Get a travel buddy and hit the road!
How much planning goes into your shots?
I usually research my location beforehand through Google Maps. You can sort of get an idea on how a location would look shot from above.
From there I plan my trip, taking into account how long it would take to get there as well as best time to shoot. Weather also plays a big part in shooting with drone as rain and electricity don't mix. Although some of my favourite shots are ones I've taken without any planning, sometime I just happen to be driving past a nice field or scenery and quickly pullover just to get the shot!
What inspires you?
I think there is inspiration all around you, it's just up to you to find it. When I first started out I was very inspired by looking at other photographers on instagram (@airpixels and @itchban)
Sometime you just need to experiment and try new things, worst thing is you fail and try again. Shooting with other people local with you is also a good way to stay motivated. I recently met a friend @thebirrell off instagram and we've been on heaps of adventures and exploring new places.
What’s your favourite shot you’ve taken so far?
My most favourite shot I've taken would be the photo of my friend floating in the ocean.
We went out to shoot that day and everything just lined up perfectly! This was also my first time shooting at the location and the water was just so clear and blue!
And finally, what are your plans for the future?
My plans are just to travel more! There's so many awesome locations around the world I've only seen through Instagram and really wish to visit!
