SPIDERMAN BRAND NEW DAY.
7/06/2026Jake RyanThere are plenty of big films on the horizon, but none I'm looking forward to more than Spider-Man Brand New Day.
For me, it all comes down to where we left Peter Parker.
The ending of Spider-Man, No Way Home completely reset his story. His friends don't remember him, the Avengers don't know who he is, and he's back to being just a young man trying to make his way through life. As heartbreaking as that ending was, it also opened the door to something we've not seen from Spider-Man for a long time, a fresh start.
That's exactly why I'm so excited.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the multiverse. Seeing three generations of Spider-Men sharing the screen was something I never thought I'd experience in a cinema. But I don't think every Spider-Man film needs to be about saving the universe.
I'd love to see this next chapter focus on the things that made me fall in love with the character in the first place. Peter balancing work, friendships, rent, and trying to do the right thing while protecting New York. Those smaller, more personal stories are often where Spider-Man is at his best.
I'm also intrigued to see who he'll come up against. There have been plenty of rumours about new villains, and the trailer shows us some of these. But hoping we are in for some surprises too. Half the fun is walking into the cinema not knowing exactly what's about to happen.
More than anything, I just want to spend time with this version of Peter Parker again. Tom Holland has grown with the role, and after everything his character has been through, it feels like there's still so much story left to tell.
Hopefully, Spider-Man 4 doesn't try to outdo the last film. It doesn't need to. Sometimes, the best superhero stories are the ones that feel the most human.
If it delivers that, I'll be leaving the cinema very happy.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED FOR?
